The recommendation is to replace water pump and t-stat every 60K miles as preventative maintenance. Silly not to replace the belts as you need to take them off anyway. As you know BMWs do not tolerate being overheated very well. WebThe old pump has a plastic impeller inside, and the new pump has metal internals. When you get a new pump make sure its part # 11517632426 which is the new pump.
