In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of gears and the basic theory of gear modification are deeply studied. In this paper, a nonlinear dynamics model of the torsion coupled gear transmission is established. WebGear systems consist of several gears and are major components of many engineering applications such as drive trains in cars. In operating gear systems, non-smooth dynamics such as gear hammering or high frequency oscillations may occur.
