Location: Quesnel, BC, CA. I have owned both the 4b2 and the 4b3 series. I still have the cubed 4b and can honestly say that it is a definite improvement over the squared version. As pointed out by Adrian, preamp choice is key. I decided to go with a tube preamp and am quite happy with the combination.

Yet, I find despite having the cohones, Bryston's are also very open sounding- big sound stage with depth, musical and non fatiguing to the ears. One last thing, a Bryston component is built like the proverbial s house. They are rock solid which explains how the company can offer a 20 year warranty.
WebMar 28, 2024 · I used an Oppo 105D - HDMI out to the Bryston BDA- 2. Worked brilliantly. No rational reason the BDA-3 shouldn't work equally well with HDMI output from your Oppo 205.
